Lucid Software
Karl Sun is the co-founder and CEO of Lucid Software, which makes LucidChart, an HTML5 real-time collaborative diagramming application. Prior to Lucid, Karl spent seven years at Google and started the company's China office, leading business development for Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. He was also a Principal at Google.org, where he led the company's renewable energy investments focusing on advanced battery, electric vehicle and advanced wind technologies. Karl was the first patent counsel at Google and started Google’s patent and intellectual property groups. Karl's previous experience includes counseling Silicon Valley technology companies through all stages of development, including intellectual property, corporate finance, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions. Karl received his law degree from Harvard Law School, and also holds a Master's degree in Technology and Policy and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T.
